The HSE recommend that members of the public who visit the workplace should be considered when determining first aid provision.
In practice, a minimum of two First Aiders are required to cover planned and unplanned absences.

1 DAY EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK (EFAW)

Course description & Who should attend?
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first
aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working
environments, such as a small office. The course covers first aid protocols for adult
casualties only.

3 DAY FIRST AID AT WORK

Course description & Who should attend?
This course is for higher hazard environments where people will be responsible for 5-
people or more, and lower hazard environments that are responsible for more than 50-
employees. A three-day course which meets the standards required to comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. After successful completion the candidate will be able to perform the role of a first aider in the workplace. This course also includes the
use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

3 HOUR BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

Course description & Who should attend?
Anyone including nurses, health care professionals, carers, this short course is ideal
for carers and health care professionals who need to refresh their resuscitation skills
and is delivered in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines. The
course can also be tailored to specific work environments.
